We will investigate or refer to the appopriate agency. Your call can be kept confidential and we will handle the rest. Adoption Steps: Come spend some time with our dogs and cats and see which one is for you. Once you have made a decision, fill out our short adoption application form. Pending approval, your new pet will be spayed or neutered and is ready to go. All Animals adopted are or will be spayed or neutered. (Courtesy Of Dr. Bill Svenson of Animal Health Clinic)   Adoption fees include spay or neuter and are: Dogs $60.00 Cats $50.00 Surrendering Surrendering an animal can be a very hard thing to do.  Some animals are not right for the family and some families are not right for the animal. If the animal is yours, you must put an ad in the paper in an attempt to place the animal yourself.  The Aberdeen American News will usually run a 3 line ad for 3 days FREE if you are offering your animal free to a good home. If you do not find a home for your animal, call us and we will take your animal if we have space or  will place you on our waiting list. You must have the receipt for your ad prior to our accepting the animal. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANIMALS AT THE SHELTER UNATTENDED!!!  This can be very dangerous to the animal. Surrender fees are as follows: Dogs  $20.00 Cats  $15.00 Puppies  $12.00 for the 1st, $6.00 each after Kittens  $10.00 for the 1st, $5.00 each after (TAX INCLUDED) If we are full, we will put you on a waiting list and call you as soon as there is an opening.  This might be a day or possibly a week. Donations We are a non-profit organization.  Donations from folks like you help us insure that animals always have a safe place to go between homes.   We have several tiers of memberships to choose from should you wish to join us or we can also receive outright and memorial donations. Volunteer   Our volunteer program helps us continue to run this non-profit center.  With help from caring citizens like you, we are able to continue offering outstanding care to our animals as well as afford you an opportunity to contribute to our mutual success. Our volunteers take part in many activities at the shelter including walking dogs, grooming, and playing with the animals.
