Featured Cat

Leah

Leah is a DSH torti. She came to us as a stray and is a bit timid. We believe that she is approximately 2 years old.

She is learning to get along with other cats here but we think she would like a quiet home with older children.

Leah does like attention but it takes her time to warm up to you!

Madge5 to

7 year old black DSH, front declawed. She enjoys sitting in our windows and watching the birds come and go out of our trees. She can get spooked easily but we think that it is still an adjustment for her.

Madge enjoys playing with all of our kitties here at the shelter. Madge is also a lot of luv.....17 lbs of luv!!!!! She is more of a lap kitty. She just craves the human touch and will turn herself inside out when you pet her!

Annie

5 to 6 month old gray tabby female DSH.  She’s an old soul--very mellow and quiet.  She might be a bit overwhelmed with the shelter environment, so we hope she’ll come out of her shell and be more playful once she gets into a home.  She’s waiting for just the right human to love her forever!

Sheldon
6 to 7 year old DSH grey tabby male farm cat. He is still learning to be alright with the human touch. He is nervous and uncertain of this unfamiliar lifestyle. We think he would do best with another cat in a quiet household. He is a sweet cat that needs to have someone who is willing to let him come around on his own time.

Tigger
Tigger is a 4-5 year old DSH female cat that came as a stray from the Redfield area. Tigger is a pretty quiet cat and keeps to herself for the most part. She is a very loveable cat and enjoys human interaction. You will find her at AAHS perched up high on top of the cages or looking out the windows.

Fancy

5 to 7 year old DSH sleek black kitty.  Fancy is pretty social and enjoys playing.  She lived with other cats and a dog and would do very well with either.  Fancy is a very quiet cat, hardly ever meows!  She is such a lover!

Leonard

Leonard is approximately 9 to 10 years old. He was an outside farm cat and was extremely scared about coming here but has now made the adjustment. This guy will melt your heart. He is one of the H.S. favorites as he is just so stinking friendly and has so much character. He likes to have his lounging time but he certainly has a playful side. With his older age, he has lost a few teeth but that does not slow down his eating habits at all!

Boots

4 year old male. He's a bit reserved but not unfriendly.  He just likes to hang out and be mellow.  He is a registered Ragdoll. Beautiful boy!

Jill

Jill is 3 to 5 years old. She was a house cat that was surrendered to us due to unforeseen circumstances. Jill did live with a dog and kids but would fight with the dog and keep a big distance from the kids. Getting to know her here, we think that she would be most happy in a home as an only pet. She does not like to be picked up and carried around at all. Jill likes everything to be on her terms and she wants what she wants when she wants it! No ifs, ands, or buts about it! One thing that we have noticed is that Jill will turn herself inside and out for some wet food or treats! So, if you want to stay in her good graces, keep that on hand at all times!!

Izzy

Young female black DMH.  She was abandoned in a home along with another kitty who has since been adopted.  This gorgeous girl is clean and quiet, and is learning to adjust to the other cats here.  What a doll!
